The International Institute of Municipal Clerks celebrates Municipal Clerks Week during the first week of May each year. What plans do you have? How about giving a shout-out to your favorite Municipal Clerk?
What is the Municipal Clerks Honor Roll?
Since 2001, General Code has hosted a special recognition program for Municipal Clerks called the “Municipal Clerks Honor Roll.” The program originally ran from 2001 to 2009 and was revived in 2019. The aim of the program is to celebrate the hard work and dedication of Clerks in communities of all sizes and types.
The Honor Roll allows municipal officials, private citizens, and other Clerks to acknowledge and pay tribute to the Municipal Clerks who give so much to their communities every day. Some Clerks have been honored over multiple years, and the written nominations often include incredible stories of the extras that many of the Clerks do beyond their basic official duties.
How, when, where
Beginning on May 2nd, nominations will be accepted using a form on the General Code website. Look for more details, including an FAQ (frequently asked questions) section, and other information including the archived 2019 and 2020 honoree lists. Nominations will be accepted through May 12th. The 2021 Municipal Clerks Honor Roll will be unveiled during Municipal Clerks Week, May 2 – 8.
We look forward to having you participate and helping us to celebrate the role of the Municipal Clerk in our communities!
