The nominations for the 2024 Municipal Clerks Honor Roll highlight the exceptional dedication of these public servants. Many Clerks go above and beyond their official duties, acting as enthusiastic ambassadors for their municipalities. They often volunteer their own time for special projects and events, working to ensure everyone in their community feels welcome and cared for.
This year, the Honor Roll received over 400 nominations, with some Clerks being praised by multiple individuals. A total of 311 Clerks from around the country in 38 states have been recognized by their peers and grateful communities. This annual event, created and hosted by General Code since 2001, was celebrated during Municipal Clerks Week with the results announced on May 6.
The nominations underscored extraordinary leadership in challenging situations, the implementation of digital tools, process streamlining, community outreach, and a willingness to take on new and multiple roles. Many also highlighted a commitment to continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge. Honorees ranged from those new to their role as Clerk to those with several decades of experience.
The following statements are just a sampling of the tributes that were submitted this year:
Congratulations to the 2024 honorees and thank you to everyone who submitted nominations! All of us at General Code are grateful for the chance to celebrate the remarkable work of these Municipal Clerks and public employees who are devoted to the wellbeing of our communities.
