These past few years have been a stark reminder of the need to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable in our communities. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis — and every day — General Code Connected continues a 60-year company/employee partnership focused on lifting up local and client communities in times of crisis and everyday need.

Supporting client communities in need
Our client communities are an extension of our own. In times of challenge or natural disaster, we help citizens stay connected and well-informed by ensuring uninterrupted access to their code information.
Lifting up our neighbors
Hunger, homelessness, education, and health challenges affect many of our neighbors. We focus many of our efforts on addressing these issues that are so critical to our communities.
Investing in the future of local government
By funding scholarships and sponsoring educational opportunities that build new skills, we invest in the next generation of clerks, planners, and municipal officials.
Celebrating jobs well-done and lives well-lived
Through social media, personal recognition, and memorial donations, we celebrate the individual and community achievements.
Making a difference through collaboration and caring
In August, members of the General Code in the Community team volunteered at the Academy of Health Sciences Charter School in Rochester, NY, to assist with the sorting and organizing of textbooks, school supplies and learning materials for the new school year. The added help allowed the school’s ELA teachers and staff to free up more time to plan and prepare to welcome back students for full in-person instruction.
For more than 20 years, we’ve honored the hard work of municipal clerks and local officials by sponsoring the Municipal Clerks Honor Roll. Each year, hundreds of clerks across the nation are nominated in recognition of their dedicated work to their respective communities.
We’ve been a long-time supporter of the Rochester Small Business Council Thanksgiving food box program for families in need during the holiday season. Coordinated by the General Code in the Community team, this year General Code collected a record 23 boxes in support of this program. The program’s overall goal for 2021 is to help more than 4,000 families in our community have a happier Thanksgiving with a warm meal.
In conjunction with the International Institute for Municipal Clerks (IIMC), General Code recently donated more than 800 surplus conference tote bags to the Jewish Family Services of Rochester’s Pencil & Paper program and to the Rochester School District’s Families in Transition (FIT) program. The bags were used to distribute school supplies to local students, and hygiene and clothing items to the homeless in our community.
